  • Do you keep your TAC Profile updated?

How many of you visit your profile a few times per year to update goals, things you’re working on and where you are in your journey?

I find it’s a great tool because it reminds you of your state of mind with respect to your guitar at various stages in your journey. Maybe every 90 Day Review time could be your trigger to check the profile and see if you still are in agreement with what is there and if perhaps you’re working towards different things than is stated in there. I find it’s just as important for my progress as keeping notes during Benchmark Challenge weeks.

It’s also very helpful for your fellow TAC members. I pull up other members’ profiles frequently when I’m responding to them in the comments or forums. I want to get a feel for who I’m chatting with. Many, many….far too many profiles are empty! Just the bare minimum of info there to register for the site.

Good point @petelanger ! I did mine when I would write my annual reflection but I passed 11 in May and have been having too much fun to shlogg around in the files and pages and am therefore late in my update. We are a community and I owe that at a minimum as I have been given so much.

@jumpinjeff I’ve probably tweaked my profile around 6 times since I started in TAC. If anybody social engineers me from the stuff I’ve written I’ll know, and I’ll hunt them down and gut them like a fish!

Great encouragement. I affirm your use of the profile. I update mine as part of the quarterly goal review process. The practice has kept me directed. I use the profile like an aviation flight plan. Although I am off the flight plan 98% of the time, blown by the winds and life interruptions, but with awareness of a need for correction. I adjust and eventually get somewhere. And I feel no sense of failure if I change my destination. The plan is my tool not my master. So this week I’ll be updating it again. It’s the end of another quarter.
