WOW!! C#9 tuning, unreal. I hope I live long enough.
Blue Highway ventured all the way down to SW Florida and played in a small church for a local crowd. I had the pleasure of seeing him and his band mates from the second row.. if you like/play bluegrass these guys are the real deal. Their dynamics and musicianship between the 5 of them are out of this world. Great pick tony, thanks for all you do for this community!
Amazing musician and Guitarist for sure
Holy crap! Open C#9 tuning? Sounded great. Wish I could tell the chord shakes he was making. I don’t have that tuning on my large chromatic tuner. He says what the strings are tuned to.
This is why I want another Acoustic. I could then use one of them for just experimenting with alternate tuning.
Great Inspiration! Great lesson.
GOOD STUFF
Ok Beppe is great! Both guitar and voice. I thought Church St. Blues and Handsome Molly were among my favorites.
They have a wonderful intimacy to them while at the same time incredible technique.
this inspires me to go on utube to see more of him playing
Wow!
Second video is unavailable.
This will be quite a challenge.
Janet’s song was superb. Love that tuning
I love Alison cross and union station to bad video wasn’t available
Yes, very good indeed!
Video unavailable!?
Sad.
Wow, I’m really enjoying the inspiration station! This is awesome, thanks!
Excellent!
Some of the video links are no longer valid.
Obsession is a really beautiful tune. And that guitar!! Love it
Awesome beautiful listening to them play and watching how they pick
Googled Tim which led me to Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley….more inspiration!
I’m curious to see if Will Ackerman shows up as an artist.
The first time i saw him was with Kenny Loggins, playing the will of the wind.
Thanks, really!
It is just what my instructor said to me awhile ago. There is no guitar music without the right ( or for left handed players… the left ) hand. You can find notes with your fretting hand, but it is you picking/ strumming hand that makes music.
Amazing economy of movement in left hand. Liked Obsession and Rambling Hart best.
I’d like more information about the opening tuning he used.
Here is the info on his Composite Acoustics Tim Stafford guitar https://bluegrasstoday.com/composite-acoustics-tim-stafford-guitar/
Hey Duane Thanks for the link I was very interested to know what Tim’s Guitar was is Thanks for sharing this
Keep well
Awesome and versatile player! I knew him a bit from Union Station, but appreciate hearing how great he is in a solo setting. Will check out his solo recordings for sure!
Obsession – what a wonderful tune! Thank you very much for sharing.
Wow! I had never heard of Tim or of Jim Hurst. Their playing is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us.
I guess I can keep holding my pick the way I always have
Tim is amazing, but that right hand position tho!
Thus ends the conversation that ‘anchoring’ restricts your picking speed. And Greg, that guitar appears to be a Composite Acoustic, probably their Legacy model.
Inspired by the duet with Tony!
I like the lyrics on that last song …… what a talented guy! !
That guy is incredible.
Anyone know what make of guitar he is playing in the second video? The non-wood black one, thanks!
