Tuesdays are just plain awesome!!! Tuesdays are lick days where you will learn a riff or a lick that you can add to your repertoire quickly and unleash at any jam. The licks will always have their key identified so when you have the chance to use it, you can use it in the right setting. These are nice little 2-3 measure chunks that will help improve your playing in a really fun musical way.

      Dale,

      I was trying to find which page you left this comment on and for some reason I can’t find it, and with all of the guitars I have sometimes it is hard for me to remember which one. The Nov 3rd lesson was done on a custom Martin OM, but I do indeed have an HD35, which I very much love. I hope that helps answer your question 🙂

        It must be nice to have such great guitars all around you. I just got a Martin D-18GE. I think it might just be the guitar I’ve always been looking for. I really enjoy your music villa site.

      Al,

      Thanks for your question, this guitar is my custom Martin OM with Birdseye Maple Back/Sides, Swiss Spruce top, MOP diamond rosette, Foden inlay, and custom headstock inlay. Joel has affectionately named this guitar maplestiltskin… and the name has stuck 🙂

    Hey Tony,
    I play with a thumbpick and 2 fingerpicks and it seems more natural (or automatic) for me to start the first note of this lick with an upstroke with my index finger first then downstroke with my thumb and alternate down/up stokes.
    What do you feel is the best way for a fingerpicker to proceed?

      Thanks for the question, I would say the approach that you laid out is perfect. When it comes to fingerpicks, I would play this as written, but I have known many a player that would approach this with two fingers. I think the most important thing to keep conscious of is your timing and the tone you are producing. I hope this helps!!!
