    @Bill_Brown , I know the day will come where i’ll have a light bulb moment and this will be easy. I think i’m getting there, but right now it’s not easy (ha ha ha). I have been reading and re-reading to try to get to what I should be doing, but more of why it works the way it does? This is what I have come up with.

    If I was working in the Key of C, my 1 4 5 would be C F G. If I used an A barre for the C chord, then my F and G chord would be using the D shape. I played it as such and it sounded nice (1 4 5 1). I am thinking that since the chords shapes were close, working down the neck and back up the neck, using some of the same notes is why the harmony sounded good together. Am i even close!! 😨
