I was happy to hear you talk about the FW course yesterday and the understanding that you needed a way to find a sound that is more different from your previous songs. The good news is that your current sound is so good and your lyric writing is so moving and memorable that it’s not a big deal. Just keep those amazing songs coming.
But, ultimately, it’s almost like re-writing the same song over and over with different lyrics if your guitar chops doesn’t evolve, so good on you. I really look forward to continuing to watch your progress.
I know I’m not supposed to compare myself to others, but I can’t help but say I wish I could write lyrics like you do. I’m not even kidding when I say I believe your lyrics are as good as anyone I’ve ever heard. I mean anyone. Paul Simon, John Denver, Carol King, Joni Mitchell. There are a bunch of them, so don’t let it go to your head, but yeah, I think your lyrics are as good as they get. Personal opinion. Of course, we could never believe that of our own lyrics. So you don’t have to agree with me. 😅
Anyway, I would love to hear the version with the 2 guitars. I think minimal is perfect for this song. Excellent song. Thanks for posting, Terry. You are an inspiration to me.
