300
Well, today marks my 300th playing session in TAC!
Thought I’d throw out some thoughts- maybe get some responses and advice(s). Maybe someone else can relate to my blabbing-ons. It’s important for ME to step back every now & again, and remember that I should naver stop learning- because that is the real goal……
Anyway– no doubt I’m playing more accurately, with more ease of movement *between* chords, notes, hammer-ons, pull-offs, etc. Maybe a lot of that comes just from playing often, but the Dailies just seem to be “easier” somehow- especially ones that beat me up the first time I saw them….
Maybe more importantly— I am *thinking* a lot better at guitar. I’m picking up the “patterns” in the Dailies easier, and also in songs I’m working on.
Also, I think- (hope?)- that I’m improving at *learning* songs that I’m messin’ with- (repetition/patterns, memorizing lyrics, and where & when to throw in fun stuff like bass walks, hammer-ons, pulloffs, droppin’ my pinkie onto a string right before heading to a different chord, etc). It all just seems to be getting “easier” somehow.
I’m more comfortable messin’ with songs that are just “ahead” of my playing ability- lately it’s been “Yesterday” and “Dream a Little Dream”. I know many of you out there can play these in your sleep, but these are fun to me because it’s music from “my time”, and to me they both have some cool chords, arrangements, and transitions.
I have come a long way for sure because of TAC, and I know I have a long way to go, but am REALLY excited about it! Comin’ up on my 1-year anniversary- and look forward to my *next* guitar-playing year!
