5 Years of TAC
Tomorrow marks 5 years since joining TAC. After 1314 sessions I’ve made the tough decision to not renew this year and to move on to pursue new challenges. I’ve not been one to frequent the forum very often, but I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude and appreciation to Tony and the TAC Family.
When I first joined in June of 2021, I was all-in from the get go. I played every day and watched Acoustic Tuesday every week. I went back and watched the entire archive on YouTube. I was so inspired by the sheer volume and pace of guitar learning that occurred in those early days; from guitar history, to artists new to me from the past and present, gear reviews and stories from the TAC community. I miss guitarsenals. I also really enjoyed the Noah & Levi era.
The best thing that a life-long guitar dabbler like myself has gained through TAC has been a solid routine. I generally play every day now. The daily challenges and skills courses have helped me to develop a solid base of fundamentals. Fretboard Wizard literally blew my mind with it’s concise framing of basic music theory.
TAC has given me the confidence to know it’s probably past time for me to move on to mentor based practice. I feel the need to work with someone that can push me to develop and hold me accountable.
I’d just like to wish the best to everyone out there doing their best to do what you can. Keep showing up and having fun. For the newcomers, I encourage you to follow the process and do the 30 Days to Play and explore the Skills Courses. Everyone should go through Fretboard Wizard, several times. That’s my $.02, for what it’s worth. Keep on pickin’ & grinnin’.
Cheers,
Steve
