Angle of attack
I have been working of “Freight Train” by Elizabeth Cotton. A few places in the song you finger pick the first fret on the high E string.
In one part of the song it has quit a twang/buzz sound. I figured out that it had to do with the angle of attack of my picking finger. I was rushing to hit that note. When I learned to relax and strum across it gently versus and hard pluck it sounded much better.
