  • Big first small win

    Okay milestone day for me and my first small win. Today, is day seven of the 30 Days of Guitar, seven days ago I decided to finally learn how to play the guitar. I can now play the 12 Bar Blues, still make a few mistakes, but it’s a 1000% improvement over where I started. The Blues Bass line needs some more work but is getting there, and admittedly I struggle with the Blues Boogie but still better than when I started out!

    Congratulations @subsailor731 👍 on that small win. Hopefully you’ll have many more along your journey.

    A bit of advice, if I may, always keep a couple of things in mind while walking along the path:

    Mastery is not the goal here. If you come across a lesson that you tried to do but it’s too hard, it’s OK. If anything, you should come away with an understanding of what the lesson was about and you can always come back to it another time (if you want). In other words, don’t let perfection (or lack of it) get in the way. Baby steps, you have to learn to walk before you can run.

    Always keep it fun. This is a key point in the fundamentals of TAC. If you’re having fun learning & playing, then you’ll always want to pick up the guitar every day, even when it’s hard to find the time. If you’re not having fun, then you need to take a break, give it a rest – come back to it later (I’m talking about any lesson that you come across here) – move on to the next thing.

    Best of luck along the journey subsailor731😎👍🎸🎼

    Hey @subsailor731 ;

    Congratulations of this big small win. The joys of guitar have entered your life. This is the biggest difference between Tony’s method and others, you must have fun from the start.

    So I hope you pay attention to @Bill_Brown ‘s comment. It is spot on and much more precise and concise than I would have said it. He really hit the nail on the head. Always have fun and forget about mastery.
