Big win, I have been working on thumb independence for some time with a small amount of success, I left own for a few days and forgot to throw in a guitar, (argh) when I got back I picked up my guitar and started warming up and low and behold the thumb is working on it’s own, I was so happy that I was finger picking with alternating bass for the next 3 hours😃

Fantastic win @johnny67 ! Funny how a break can work for us sometimes.

Muscle memory is a marvelous thing! Nice win @johnny67 to train your thumb to go “on auto pilot”.

Thanks!, I wouldn’t say auto pilot but it will be soon!

Sounds like you fell down the playing rabbit hole there! Perhaps the unintentional break gave you a bit of a reset. I wonder whether not trying so hard also helps. I find my playing sounds most natural when I zone out and stop thinking too hard about what I’m doing.
