  • Bigger than small win.

My bigger than small win is that I had to fly out of town suddenly for a family member medical issue, I knew I was going to be gone for a week, I didn’t want to miss a week of playing so I carried on my GS Mini instead of my carry on suitcase, and paired bare necessities to fit into a small backpack that fit under my seat. I’ve played alot since being here, and it’s making a stressful situation be less stressful!! Also blues week has been kind of a calming meditation. YAY. Big Win.

That’s an awesome win @margaretsguitar ! I’m so happy you were able to travel with your GS Mini and that it’s helped relieve stress. I have to travel in a few months, and I always get nervous about whether to take a guitar or not. I’m sleays afraid there won’t be enough room in the overheads when I board, and they’ll say I have to check it.

I was pretty scared to take it, but it worked out. It did fit in the overhead on one flight (it’s a shortie) and would have fit on the second but she put it in the closet for me instead. That was delta. And so far, the fact that I only brought minimal clothing isn’t hindering me any. Bring your guitar!!

That’s great you could take it; and keeping up the music was a help to you. I hope things are going well now for you and your family.

I have a Martin Backpacker I take when I travel, but I always carry it on. Travel playing and practice is very rewarding and soothing and when you get back you have created new memories. Occasionally I’ve even found people who want to borrow my funny guitar and have been missing their fingers on the frets. I’ve made new friends who turn out to be closet guitar geeks.

I’ve been looking at that one, can you take a traditional roller carry on bag in addition to it or does it count as your carry on bag.

        Likely depends on the airline.
