Posted by Sigi on July 1, 2021 at 7:08 pmHey TACFAM
I need help deciding which guitar to bring camping one of my dreadnoughts or I have a Martin Traveler. What is your vote?

Which is most expensive? Is there an issue with space? Is there an issue with possible damage?
Bring which ever one you like the best if you can protect it from water and physical damage and you have plenty of space.
I got rid of my small travel guitars because I didn’t play them very often and when I tried I could play them very well due to small scale length and resulting tiny fret spaces.
When I take a guitar on a trip which will increase the risk of damage or loss, I always opt for the least expensive guitar that I like to play. There are other ideas on this. I hope you get a suggestion that works for you.

If you don’t want to take your own guitars (like when I go for an extended period of time), I rent one instead. I normally rent a Journey Collapsible Guitar (neck detaches and whole guitar fits into its own small sized backpack. The one I get is carbon fibre so I do not have to worry about it getting wet or damaged.
The place I rent it from costs me about $10 a weekend or $25/week. Not too bad I think and makes life easier.
