I’ve been trying to get the first of the 30 Days to Play I’m on the blues shuffle and base line and I mean it’s very rough, I feel like I’m making some progress. Yesterday I find out I’ve got a critic in the house and I guess he wanted me to know I was annoying him to no end. Max came in sat next to me on the table wearing his fur coat as usual, I was picking the next thing I knew the jerk didn’t even give me any warning goes and sinks his teeth into my forearm 3 inches below the elbow. I drop my guitar and smack him right in the nose. I get a horrible hiss from him and he leaves the room yowling at me. He was off standish the rest of the night usually he keeps me warm sleeping between my legs he spent the night on the couch. What do you do with a prima donna like this.

@[email protected] You got nothing. Looking at the picture, he owns you and he knows it. Maybe ask him what he wants to hear? You’re just lucky he doesn’t take over the empty guitar case while you are playing and not give that back either.

Those fur coat toting kind are always a sensitive and fickle temperament type. They have no appreciation for real artistic skill. Luckily for everyone, the guitar didn’t sustain any damage. That would have had a deadly outcome (or are there reeaaalllly 9 lives?).

Oh, Dear, naughty Max. I read somewhere that cats are musical creatures and enjoy listening to music. That has not been my experience of them; I think they like quiet. He probably doesn’t want you playing because it takes your attention away from HIM. Consider putting him in a different room and closing the door when you practice? I used to play saxophone, and I had a dog who would come and sit beside me and howl – think he taught the pack leader was howling so he’d join in – most off-putting!

Ooooooo Noooooo! First of all, is your guitar OK?? You said you dropped it to smack the perpetrator in the nose… I’m hoping your guitar didn’t suffer. Secondly, which arm was the injury? Fretting hand or picking hand? Are you still able to play? Lastly, when is the funeral service for your ex kitty???

If he is still among the living… I’d invest in some kitty earplugs yikes. Your audience is far more critical than mine. Lucy could care less if I play guitar and Charlie kind of cringes each time I make a mistake-like she knows I’m making a mistake. Yes somehow she knows?!?! Anywayz they’ve never inflicted bodily injury so I hope you and your guitar are both doing well after the bad review…..

To answer your question about what to do with a kitty such as that, maybe you should switch to banjo for a few days. She might enjoy the guitar better after that, hehehehe

what to do with your prima donna? Put him in a room other than the one you practice in. Make sure he can not open the door once closed. I have 4 cats and a dog who all spend quality time with each other when I play.
