Been trying to learn songs and I’ve been trying to figure out the cord nomenclature where there is a slash (ex. G/D). Saw some of this in the Flippety Doo lesson. Can some explain it? Seems like G/D mean playing a D cord shape at the G location on the neck, but D/A doesn’t seem to fit. Also I been trying to figure out what is meant when the cords listed are C 5/2 5/1 5/0 C. Any help understanding this would be helpful.

It basically means your playing a chord over a different bass note than the normal root
