Day 59 of The 100 Day Project

Today’s song is Morning Has Broken. I remember the Cat Stevens’ version from my younger days. Found out it is a “Misc Traditional” song ( @AttyTJ ‘s favorite category). It has a traditional Gaelic melody, and the words were written by Eleanor Farjean (1881-1965), an English writer, mostly children’s books. Oh, the things we learn when we are learning songs! 😀

Lovely song @Michelle_in_PSL . I first heard the Cat Stevens version when I was much younger but in later years heard it played in Church. I thought that things were really getting liberal when Cat Stevens is played in Mass, did some research, and discovered it was originally a hymn first published in 1931. So I completely agree, oh the things we learn from music.

  Thank you @Mike56 . Yes, there is definitely a religious meaning in the lyrics. I can see it as a Christian hymn.
