Day 82 of The 100 Day Project
Posted by Michelle-PSL on April 22, 2021 at 6:47 pmHappy Earth Day! For today, I chose a song that I found on youtube and sung by this cute little boy(youtu.be/3sHcySBjbSw). I think he plays and sings better than I do. The song is appropriately called “Earth Day Song.” Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching, and remember, every day is earth day!

thats a great idea – will work on that – I was the director of environmental strategy for a fortune 50 company for about 8 years so I have plenty of themes I could pull from!

Hello Michelle – It’s my first time looking at the forums. I wanted to see what your project was about. You play and sing very confidently. I noticed the uke hanging from your shelf. I started playing uke about 15 years ago. Then I focused solely on baritone ukulele for ten years. I bought a tenor guitar to get used to steel strings. Now, I’m 2.5 months into serious guitar focus. 🤠 Jeff

Hi @J.Humble – welcome to the Forum and thanks for your kind words! This pandemic got me playing. I started with ukuleles first. I admittedly went a little crazy and, at one time had 12 ukes. Now I have 7 of them (I think???) and one is a baritone. Sold a couple and gave a couple away. Loved the sound of the baritone best, and moved on to the guitar. The one you see is a Flight soprano with the extended neck. I also have one concert, the baritone, and the rest are all tenors. You should join one of the Virtual Open mics and play your uke! I’ve done it and others have played them as well.

Oh – about the challenge –
I am participating in The 100 Day Project, which is sponsored by a non profit organization whose goal is to encourage art and creativity. In fact, I learned about it from Cynthia Lin who is a youtube uke teacher. She did it last year and inspired me to do it.
Everyone makes up their own project. There are no hard and fast rules. Mine was focused on memorizing songs and licks, since, at least 82 days ago, I couldn’t seem to remember anything. I was chord-sheet-dependent. Sometimes I record a song/lick that evening, and over the weekend I’ll do a couple “emergency” pre-recordings, because I’m still working, and sometimes I’m just beat. So It’s nice to be able to post the pre-recorded performance.
So that’s it. Just a few more days to go and I can’t wait…😁
