ErikBog Sharing Guitar Routine
1.) How many days per week do you play?
I play every weekday after dinner for at least an hour . In weekends I am more flexable and tend to play more in the morning.
2.) What time of day do you play?
Somewhere between 19.00-20.30 in the evening. Having a specific time really helps, especially in busy family.By now everybody knows this is my ‘guitar time’, that would otherwise probably get lost on TV. Sometimes my daughters (15 & 12) join me, but only if I am lucky.
3.) Where do you play?
I do not have a guitar room, so I move around a bit from bedroom to basement. A specific guitarroom is a dream, but that would require moving house 🙂
4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).
In a way non-existant. I picked up the guitar after 20 years or so. A bit on and of. What worked for me was:
1 playing acoustic. Because you can play it straight away without getting lost on sounds, knobs, cables and everything else. Just pure playing pleasure
2 Work consistently on small chunks, rather than starting with one YouTube tutorial after another, without a ‘system’, taking you from one level to the next. The Acoustic Challenge really helped my routine, my focus and changed my view on progress and accomplishment.3 Sharing! A huge part of my routine is to share what I have learned and get great supportive feedback in return. It has kept me going the past couple of years and I am sure will keep me going for many more to come.
<b class=””>5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?
I probably should be a metronome but that is guitar related, so I will go for my after dinner tea. No coffee if I want to get some sleep after that.
