Fable
A fable a curse, her beauty the fame,
Suitors knelt low, but none could claim.
Bound by her sorrow, lonely she feared,
In shadow she wept, no love ever near. Her face like the dawn, a spell to behold,
Even the gods, in envy grew cold.
So Eros was sent, an arrow in flight,
To shatter her grace, to dim her light.Yet fortune turned, the bowman disarmed,
He knelt at her feet, by beauty was charmed.
But her heart still chained, in sorrow would lie,
Until her kin, offered her to the sky.The winds did carry, far she was borne,
To a silent keep, where none had worn.
And there in the mist, a whisper she heard,
“Love is nothing without trust”, spoke the word.Under the covers, unseen hands entwine,
Under the moon, their bodies align.
Under the covers, a candle alight,
Found and lost in the depth, of the night.
Under the covers, Under the coversNightly he came, in darkness concealed,
In his embrace, joy was revealed.
Yet her yearning burned, to see his face,
And when she did, he fled with haste. The gods grew wroth, and trials they set,
Through fire and storm, her heart was met.
At last, she triumphed, her resolve held fast,
“Love is nothing without trust,”, to the last.Under the covers, unseen hands entwine,
Under the moon, their bodies align.
Under the covers, a candle alight,
Found and lost in the depth, of the night.
Under the covers, Under the covers -
