The backing track did not go well with the drone strings and the backward rolls.
So I just did the one string climb – and went more hardcore improv than I usually do:
Tried out the scale, did a couple of practice runs and recorded in one take.

Way, way quicker than normally 😂

So sweet and melodic @Niels 🤩👍🤩 I like how you used the single notes and slides (that’s what I’ve been noodling with – but couldn’t come up with any tangible melody) along with the quick “run-ups” to the home note to create a wonderful melody that matches the backing track👏👏👏 Hats off to you Niles🎩 way to go🍾

Very cool @Niels It was nice to see you play “out of the box” like that. I agree the drone scale could get buried in the mix. I boosted my equalizer after recording to try to adjust my solo sound a bit. Thanks for posting!

Very melodic and I like that for want of a better description, your improvisation has direction to it, it’s not just noodling around.

    Thank you @Bill_Brown , @charlie_d , @Jonathandavid , @marisa , @Guy_h , @danb0509 , @DavidScoggins and @Lange22 for your kind words.
    Much appreciated 🙏

This is my 37th improv since I started doing improvs back in September 2020.
It was interesting to do it “the proper way” this time.

I still prefer doing it my normal way: Look at the scale, do a chord analysis (looking for usable double stops, mostly), noodle around on and off about half a day, sleep on it and then record the next day.

This one was fun, but I have already forgotten everything about it 😂

That was beautiful. Well done. It put me in a very calm state of mind, which is difficult to do.

Best I’ve ever heard from you. I heard Niels in that solo. Not just a bunch of notes. Sweetly played, sir.
