  • Growing Old With You, Restless Road (cover)

Posted by Loraine on March 6, 2026 at 2:22 am

Woohoo, I am back (somewhat). . The cast came off this week, and the surgeon said I could try to play, but to take it slow. I don’t think the physical therapist would necessarily agree. I’m going to try and rain in my desire to plow ahead, which is my modus operandi. The wrist is still swollen and stiff, and if I turn my wrist a certain way, a very sharp, painful zing goes up my wrist and forearm. So, I won’t be turning my wrist that way. Haha.

I’ll tell you about the not so good news with my left wrist and hand some other time. For now, I just want to enjoy playing again.

It was like 3:30 AM and I couldn’t sleep, so why not try to play the guitar! Here you go?

I’m thrilled to hear such good news even if tempered with not so great. I’m not here often but look forward to your posts (both playing and encouraging others) and I was so sad to hear of your latest injury and that it was potentially the end. Well no she says and plows on…I love it! Keep on keeping on as they say @Loraine… so glad to see you returning! I look forward to future posts from you.

Hey Ian, you always lift my spirits when I see a post from you. The magic of passing on what was so freely given me, is what keeps things running well at TAC. Shoot me a DM sometime and tell me how things have been going. Miss seeing and talking to you.

It’s been a long road to recovery for you Loraine. Guitar is great therapy I suspect.

It is the only therapy, and a great motivator. But it gets more and more difficult each time, and the ongoing pain tempers enjoyment sometimes, but it is my happy place, and I want to hang on as long as I can.

Your left hand movement is nothing short of miraculous!! I gotta say Loraine, the thing that kept me engaged was your right hand skills. It was one of those things that I hear and go, Huh!…what is going on there and can I do it. Keep on keepin’ on.

Wow, thank you Jeff. That was probably the best compliment I’ve been given. It made me feel like I’m becoming, or I’ve become a guitar player. Thank you!

It’s good to see you playing again, albeit through pain and the disappointment of your slow recovery process! Your determination is an inspiration to us all, thanks for doing what you do @Loraine !
