  • Hit the 6 year mark on TAC

I’m not the best student, I don’t log in everyday and I don’t always follow instructions, but TAC always brings be back to my guitar. Sure I could be a lot further along if I had followed Tony’s directions better but life gets in the way and all we can do is the best we can. I had a small win tonight, and when I logged it to share it hit me that I had been with TAC for 6 years now. The small when was that I picked up a new song and a new lick within like 15 minutes of starting my practice tonight and I was setting there having fun playing when it struck me that 6 years ago learning a new lick or song took me day sometimes weeks. It hit me that this is what it’s about, keep having fun, keep practicing, and keep play your guitar, you might not always see the progress in the short term but you will shock yourself with your progress when you start looking at how much progress you have made in the long run. Cheers hope everyone is having a great holiday season.

Congratulations on your 6 year TACiversary! That’s awesome.

Your message is great, because it gives permission to those that venture away from TAC or their guitar journey, in general, permission to just dust off and jump back in. There is no guilt or shame in having life get in the way.

I love that I can learn a song or lick so quickly now. I can have new songs every week for the virtual open mics I attend. It keeps it fun, fresh, and with lots of variety to keep it interesting. I can’t focus on one thing for very long, so I tend to start something, then add it to my portfolio to continue to work on. I typically go through my entire portfolio every week or two, so it’s still fresh in my mind.

It is so cool that we can still have fun after so many years. Way to go!

Great observation and comments. You are right on target with how much fun you can build into with TAC. My goal has been to be able to play with others and for others like a piano lounge player. I don’t need to be a concert performer. I just want to play and have fun. And hearing a song, I like to pick up the key and the progression and try to jump in. TAC can build you into those skills. Congratulations.
