I picked up my hd 28 last night! It is beautiful! I knew it was sunburst so I was going to name him Sunny (duh): but no! Instead of that bright sunburst like on my epiphone it is subtle and more brownish . Kind of understated in a very mature subtle way. So even though it’s subtle it’s kind of assured and in your face. Therefore a different name with class but attitude like being from Boston. Ergo…Marty D! ( kinda like Marty D dreadnaught). Pretty cool huh. Today I took him to the local guitar guys to have new strings and make sure neck is adjusted too. I’m also switching to Martin authentic acoustic silk and phosphor strings. I have tendon problems on my pinky fretting hand so I have trouble with the mediums it comes with. Hope to pick it up Tuesday. Then I plan to post a pic. I can say this. It is stunningly beautiful which pics can’t do justice to.

Congratulations! The strings are a good choice for the HD28. And if your tendon problems continue – which I don´t hope for sure – try the santa cruz LOW tension strings.

These strings were recommended to me when my Martin Dreadnought had a professional set up. And I was quite surprised. Those strings are even more easy to play and the sound of the guitar changes. So it is a question of ones sound preference as well.

Enjoy your guitar! The sunburst options look so great. I´m looking forward to see a picure.

Happy NGD @Mrfredsporty 👍🎂👍 Can’t wait to see it. I think it’s a good idea to get away from the medium gauge strings. When I changed strings on my 000-15, I went with the “lifespan 2.0 treated” custom lights (11-52 gauge). I was able to bend notes so easily compared to the medium gauge strings. I also purchased the Santa Cruz low tension strings but haven’t tried them yet, that will happen on the next string change.

I’d like to hear feelings on the Santa Cruz low tension. I’ve had a couple recommendations on them. Thanks
