Lesson Question
Posted by subsailor731 on July 25, 2022 at 10:23 amI started week two today (30 Days) and it says to learn the lesson he first day and then practice the rest of the week. Am I supposed to do all three chords today? I have been working on the G, but should I also go on to the C & D or just add them through out the week?

Hi @subsailor731 , My 2 cents. If you feel up to it, you should do as many lessons as you want in a day. The 30 Days is designed to do at your own pace. Some people take more than 30 days to complete the course and some take less. You’ll always have this course as long as you’re a TAC member, so have fun with it and remember that you can always go back to a lesson as many times as you want.👍
Hope that helps😃

That works, the G isn’t too bad, not so sure about the C though.

@subsailor731, I have to agree, it’s all up to you to how fast you do the 30-days challenge. If you are new to the guitar it takes awhile for your fingers to know what they are supposed to do. Also takes some time for your fingertips to callus over. Just have some fun with it.

@Cadgirl Yeah I’m a complete noob, but better late than never. I seem to be able to make the 3 chord shapes but wow… switching between them is a bear. That is on my list of things to work on a lot.

Yeah, getting your fingers into the chord shapes is one thing, but switching is what’s important to play songs, Tom @subsailor731 .
So, take just 2 of them and slowly and deliberately switch between them. Then speed up a little, then slow back down and start again when you start bungling the chords.
May later the same day or later in the same session or may the next day, do a different pair of chords. You only have 3 different pairs, right?

Hi @subsailor731 good advice here from both @Cadgirl and @Bill_Brown . Take these at your own pace. “30 days” is really more directional in terms of time taken than prescriptive. The idea of the course is to help the student play something and see improvement within a very short time period (aka 30 days). Move along as you feel comfortable doing it. 😃
