Marisa – Kiss From a Rose
Posted by Marisa on May 3, 2021 at 3:01 pmHi fellow guitar geeks,
I will share this month’s breakthroughs with you: Standing makes my playing looser and freer, and when playing alone, I am guitar and percussion-aka dance on/with guitar! 😂
Still trying to figure out how to better incorporate melody lines into strumming, but coming along…
Hope you enjoy.

Excellent! Your chord changes are smooth, and your singing spot on.

Thanks @ Philb, I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.

Marisa, beautifully done. I agree with all the comments on your sense of music, playing and singing.

Love it Marisa. Seal has done some very cool songs and this is one of my favorite. Really like diggin’ in the chords around 1.18 and your “dancing” is so genuine, really got into it.
Congrats!

Another great tune smashed out of the park Marisa loved the transition to picking the melody lines you can really tell all your hard work is paying off.

Wow, @Marisa , that was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening. You need to work up a couple dozen songs and start playing publicly. Your playing and singing are definitely good enough, and you have a nice presence as well.
p.s. Is that Yamaha an A1M? I have a black A1M and it looks a whole lot like yours.

Hey @Maydog… I think I could enjoy playing out there, which is a good thing, cause the only thing I want to do lately is play the guitar!
It is a Yamaha AC1R- my prized Christmas gift. I spent an entire day playing every guitar at the store, it was a rainy day and I had no place I had to be, and I picked this guy’s guitar brain and actually plugged in for the first time ever! I’m about to put new strings on it… they are totally shredded!

I am very impressed with your lead that you incorporated into your strumming. I struggle with that but like you I want to get good at it. A great song. Your voice is right on as usual.

That was excellent @Marissa! Impressive control and accuracy with both fretting and strumming/picking hands! You are a natural talent! Love your performance

That was pretty much a “wow” performance Marisa. I totally agree with @Beatrice that you are a natural. Your timing and variety was really great. And I think you have made an excellent start with the getting melody into your strumming. All around amazing job. Thanks for posting.
