Mini F barre chord.
Posted by stevieblues on July 29, 2021 at 7:16 pmI am struggling with this Mini F chord. Haven’t been able to get the notes to ring out clearly. Anyone else having trouble with this chord? Anyone have any advice on this problem?

Hi @stevieblues , Just some thoughts🤔, try making that chord shape further up the neck – say the 5th fret where there is less tension on the strings ( that would be an A chord). If you’re still having problems with clarity, then try shifting your fretting palm to a more forward position (fingers moving up toward the ceiling) to create more arch in the fingers. Lastly, don’t laugh at me, check the length of your fingernails – make sure they’re short enough so the don’t interfere with your ability to arch your fretting fingers😮
Hope this helps

Thanks for your advice! I didn’t laugh at you, I do check my fingernails frequently.

yes that one is a little stretchy when you are starting out. It is fairly normal to struggle with it. The only advice I have is keep at it. in time it will both sound better and be easier to move to quickly.

My two cents-
Try this– try moving TO the mini-F FROM a similar chord- like maybe a C or an A-minor.
Just a thought- worked for me.
