This is the second song I did on the Scones VOM. This is the other song that came from my efforts to “fix” Gratitude. I have gone back to the original lyrics for Gratitude, which I posted yesterday, once the problem was fixed by having a different rhythm and tempo. But the first major revision, I wrote the verses that go from winter through fall. Those verses got pulled out and turned into this song. I added the 1st verse and the chorus and changed the chords for the “bridge”. In fact, I had used “summer” as the bridge, and now I am using “spring” as the bridge. Same words, same cadence, just completely different feel due to the chords.

Heartfelt! I know some like the idea of living in “Paradise” with 70 degree days and 60 degree nights but I’ve always loved the variety of seasonal changes so that each is unique and joyful. Thanks for sharing @MikeGaurnier

First, thank you for the support and kind words, @albert_d .

But second, that was an interesting comment. I used to live at Lake Tahoe, which is at 6200 ft. in the mountains. Every winter, some people would complain about the snow and having to shovel your way out of the driveway of put on chains. And I used to think (sometimes I’d say it to them, but it’s kinda harsh), if you don’t like snow and all that goes with it, why are you living in the mountains?

I’m gonna continue here, cause this might be fodder for another song. So, I get it that most people couldn’t afford a house in the Bay Area and another at Tahoe (though I did work for people like that). But hey, apparently the choice these people are making is that living in the mountains for 3 seasons is SO wonderful that it’s worth putting up with the 4th season. Ok, recognize that and focus on the wonder of the coming spring or the fun of last summer. Run beautiful memories or sweet anticipation through your mind as you are mindlessly shoveling snow. Just a thought. 😎

Ok, so thanks again, Albert. And thanks for stimulating those thoughts. I’m gonna save them. The next song in the “chute” is called “The Choice”. This could be a verse.

Nicely done, @MikeGaurnier ! 👏👏. It was both a pleasure and instructive to watch and listen how your music and songs have developed. I like the variety the chord changes bring to the song and the music. Thank you for posting. 😀

Thank you so much, @Kitman . It seems difficult for me to judge my own performances or original songs. So the support is very helpful. And I tend to listen to the video again when someone makes a comment, which also helps. Every time I hear this, the more I like it.

      Thanks,

      MG 😀
