Oh no! What happened. I’m very sorry you’re going through this. Trust me, I’ve broken both wrists in the past 2 years. The down time is painful, in my opinion. Stay connected as best you can. Respond to others posts, watch videos, etc.

I had rotator cuff surgery this spring and vowed not still play everyday. Even though I could not fret for about a week, I would still hold my guitar and practice picking.

Wow, that’s considered one of the most difficult surgeries to recover from. I give you credit. I felt like it took me a year to recover from it (mine was completely shredded).

This one was not a complete tear. I was surprised I could reach the neck within 5 days of surgery.

@rdools116gmail-com sorry about your hand! There is hope for your guitar playing though. Wishing you godspeed recovery!

I made fantastic progress recovering from Rotator cuff surgery. I worked on playing the open strings only, playing my favorite songs karaoke style (playing along with artist recordings.) Most songs can be played using only open strings. It takes some playing…your ears get used to distingishing and listening for tonality and intuitive wiring gets connected in the gray matter. Hotel California is a great example of a well know song that can be played this way. The amount of confidence this little trick provides is way greater than the effort I needed to exert to get this into the intuitive side of my skill bag. Even better,… I could do it using only my picking hand.
