Just worked through the Suzanne Somers E lick, all based on H’ons and P’offs. Like Tony said – if you want to just play it without counting, that’s cool, so long as you time and syncopate it right. Small win… I did it by feel! I’m finally starting to notice my fingers “taking over” on licks and scales. They sort of know where to find the right notes and patterns, and where to leverage extra depth of sound from playing open strings. I’m 16-months in and finally feeling like a real guitar player!

    WOOT! Nice win!
I can’t seem to do that with melody. I can feel out a picking pattern for a song sometimes but not the melody at all.

That’s great @Mike Hutchinson. That’s really what it’s about, having the fingers learn to what they need to do. This is great progress. And it’s wonderful reaching the point where you feel like a guitar player.
