Playing while on vacation
Playing while on vacation
I have many small wins rolled up into a Huge Win for me. So, here goes… My wife and I are spending a month in Hawaii (tough duty, but someone has to do it). This led to the following:
During our planning phase, my wife says, “You are planning on practicing your guitar on our vacation aren’t you?” Yes! (SmallWin #1).
I found a guitar rental near where we are staying. (SmallWin #2).
While they didn’t have the Martin or Taylor that I was hoping to rent, the entry level Jasmine was available, new and played just fine. ….AND it was half the price. (SmallWin #3).
I am successfully keeping to my daily guitar schedule and I am consistently playing between 30 to 60 minutes or more a day. While on vacation! (SmallWin #4).
Our small condo has “forced” me to play in front of my wife. This is a good thing as I am a bit shy about playing in front of people. (SmallWin #5).
My wife tells me that she enjoys listening to me practice the lessons and especially my noodling around afterwards. What a huge ego boost! (SmallWin #6, maybe a GiantWin!)
And last, while the Jasmine is serving its purpose with flying colors, it has made me realize how nice my Epiphone guitar at home plays and sounds. (SmallWin #7)
Thanks!
