Glad to say I added the backward roll to my right hand toolbox this week, by Friday I was able to work up to 1.5x speed.

That’s a great win @Lange22 . Many have difficulty with that skill. Feels good when it comes together.

Thanks @Loraine ! Now, applying it musically, needs a lot of work

You can use it in an arpegiated pick pattern, think alt base with your thumb followed by a forward and backward roll.

        Base(root), 3, 2, 1, 2, 3

        Rythm 1 & 2 & 3 4 &

Can be applied ina lot of songs. Fits well with “leaving on a jet plane” for instance.

Very helpful, thank you @Alfred !

I will give it a try. My dad is a big John Denver fan, definitely will have put it on the list to learn.

So now you know this stuff “backwards and forwards”, way to go!

Congrats, Lange22. It’s nice when that muscle memory kicks in!

Thanks @BrianFickleFingers , isn’t it cool how somethings goes from painfully slow and difficult to eventually you don’t have to think about it. Guitar is pretty awesome
