At an earlier post I made mention that I received a set of Santa Cruz strings in a single unlabeled package where I had to mic each string to determine it’s gauge for installation. Yesterday I received two sets of low tension parabolic strings from SC, one set was in the traditional style each one in their own single labeled envelope and the other set was in the single sealed plastic wrapping. I called them to find out the reason for this. They told me that they were phasing out the traditional packaging and going to the sealed no corrosive plastic packaging, the vendor I bought them from as I found out had an overstock of the original packaging. So be forewarned moving forward the Santa Cruz Guitar Co. strings will be shipped in the single non corrosive sealed package (not labeled) Just a heads up!

Hum, seems kind of odd for them to go in that direction, especially given the price for these gems. Sounds like a packaging cost cutting measure to me with benefit to them vice the customer.

Hey Chuck I somewhat agree, but to support their cause the reason is that the new packaging provides a non corrosive enviroment in a sealed package. Fortunately for me I have the tools and the know-how to figure out who goes where, I will continue to use their product.
