Show Off Your Routine
1.) How many days per week do you play?
Prior to TAC, I practiced once or twice a week if I was lucky. After joining TAC I practice every day for a minimum of 30 minutes daily.
2.) What time of day do you play?
I am an earlier riser and start my guitar routine at 4:00 am EST. I use my first cup of coffee as a trigger to start my guitar, TAC journey, and day. This small win is the first in a series of wins that I enjoy each and every day.
3.) Where do you play?
I play in my computer room. I find this area to be helpful as all of my equipment is available and within eyesight. I also use this room for tying flies and drawing so I am quite a home here.
4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implemented a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).
As stated earlier my practice was just a chance encounter with my guitar. The benefit of a routine allows me to:
1. Do my daily warm-up, prior to enjoying the TAC lessons. This the most beneficial as it is a trigger response to the guitar and environment that starts my day.
2. The daily TAC lessons. This is the “feel good” part of each day as I learn something new and engage with the TAC community.
3. The advantage of my daily routine is I am consistently getting better and learn new skills daily. In addition to all of the practice, my days are lifted have accomplished something so early.
5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must-have in your guitar routine?
I agree with Tony that coffee is a must-have. In addition, I journalize each day using the timer on my phone. I am always amazed when I find out how much time I actually spend doing what I love best.
