At the time of the transition for TAC I had played and put on a song; but was inconsistent on the site at that time, as many seemed to be, until we figured things out. One question I wanted to ask concerns vocals. I am not a good vocalist, but have tried to learn and sing to some songs, such as this one. I do want to at least do as well as I can. I played this as John Hiatt does in concert; with a capo on the third fret. I believe I am a baritone. Would it be better to have played it in the open position? Do you usually play more up toward the head-stock with a deeper voice? I just finished Tony’s skill class on using a capo, and so it brought the subject back up to me. Any feedback is appreciated. You won’t hurt my feelings about my vocals. Just trying to get better.

That was a great song Philb! Your strumming was awesome. I’m rather new to all this so I don’t know what to say about singing. I thought you did pretty good.

That was a great rendition @Philb 👏👏👏 I’m by no means a vocal expert, but I definitely see improvement in your singing efforts Phil. I think placing the capo to a point where you can sing in a different octave to accommodate your voice, while remaining in key, is the right way to go👍👍🎸😎

Thanks for listening and the kind words. Bill, I think I understand what you are saying; the basic premise of using the capo to match your voice better to a key it fits with best. My problem is, I don’t like my voice when I sing, no matter whether I use a capo or where it is; so have a hard time hearing what works best. Maybe that’s a hint to give up singing at all. LOL

@KevinZ Thanks much! I will experiment as you have said to see what is smoother. I do not have your vocal chops though. You always sound good
@Michelle-PSL Thanks Michelle; very kind! It’s good to see your name. I was so used to seeing your post daily during your 100 songs run. I hope you are well, and we see you play and sing again.
