  • Small Win – Double Vision

This marks the first ever that I played a lesson at 1.25x. I am getting some confidence in just letting my fingers go and get my brain out of the way. It feels good to build up a little speed. The trick for me is to not use the tabs and just follow Tony by ear. Its hard to develop speed if you are dependent on looking at something as you play it.

@SherryH , Outstanding observation regarding tabs. Glad you are finding the way to free your mind, your fingers are following.

I go to the tab if my ears can’t figure it out. I take the tabs as my hints and then go back to trusting my ears.

When you can play the music at speed, the next thing you note is that you are playing the music while thinking about the music and not the mechanics. Muscle memory is a fantastic blessing.

Great win! finding the best learning method is part of the fun, I always do the tab before the lesson to get it under the fingers then the lesson seems to sink it in!
