  • Space Oddity – David Bowie

Well this was a first take of a song that ended up being much more complicated than I expected when I sat down to learn it. 16 chords in all sorts of combinations was a really good stretch of my rhythm guitar playing. I can recommend it if you want a chord workout! Look out for my naughty Boxer Lyra muscling in on the act in the middle. How I kept going is a mystery.

Good to hear you again. I grew up with a boxer named Gino. I loved that dog. You seem to still be having fun with your journey. Thanks for sharing.

They are great characters. Lyra often sits and listens to me playing guitar but it’s not usually while I’m trying to record!

How fun! Love the “take off strumming”. Your vocals clearly channel Bowie.

I couldn’t think how to do that section on acoustic so just decided to slide up the neck. Hard to sing this without slipping into a Bowie impersonation.

I loved this! So well done. I looked up the chords; a lot; but doable. I couldn’t sing it as well as you; but will enjoy learning it. Thank you! Awesome cover!
