Strumming Techniques
Posted by Edith on August 5, 2021 at 11:50 pmI’ve now finished the 30-day introduction to guitar and learned some of the basic chords. I want to learn strumming techniques but can’t find any lessons here. Help!
And where should I go or my next step of learning to play on this website?
Thanks.

Hi @Edith , Congrats on finishing the “30 Days To Play” course. You’ll find in the skills section (music notes icon at the far upper left of the screen) there is a “Strumming Jumpstart” course. But I suggest that you take the “Next 6 Chords” course before doing any of the “Jumpstart” courses! Hope you’re finding the journey fun and exciting🤩 so far. Keep up the good work👍

Thank Bill for locating it for me! I had looked at the skills section but didn’t go to p.2. Appreciate your help and encouragement!

@Edith , I would recommend doing the other “Jumpstart” courses after completing the “Strumming Jumpstart”. And from there, you should do some of the technique courses, like “Fretting Hand Toolbox” or something else that interests you. Eventually, you should do the “Foundations of Fretboard Navigation” to get a little taste of simple music theory, and at some point you should do “Fretboard Wizard”🤩 This is a path that I suggest Edith, because it has worked well for me. Others may suggest different paths🤔, but I’m certain the above courses would be included👍 The main thing is to have fun doing whatever you choose to do with your journey😎

Bill:
I am finding the strumming course extremely challenging because I don’t know how to read the music sheets at all. Tony refers to them and I have no idea what he is talking about. He is talking another language to me.
Any advice?
