Kevin– When you “rollin'” on a song– it looks like you are just havin’ a blast! We just got back from the Reno BBQ, Blues, and Brews festivus— and you’d have fit right in there– on stage! Never thought that much about the 12-bar blues, but, at that event, it’s the order of the day. I bet I heard a hundred different versions/ways/keys/twists, etc to play and sing along with it. It was great. So hearing your post took me right back there!

Hey thanks @the-old-coach I wrote a song to a blues shuffle patterns. It is called Music Is A Friend Of Mine will be tweaking it again with my new blues skills it is my song so I can tweak away without being chastised. Music lets me vent yes its a blast I am very glad I stuck with it. Now it even sounds good is a plus but the best is it works my mind lately even more because I am starting to improv more into the playing. When I improv something always suffers forget words or do the wrong ones or wrong chords . So more takes until I get one postworthy. But I memorize everything goes good during practice start recording things can go sideways so delete and do it again. Yesterday I tackled Jim Reeves Am I Losing You got the improv solo note runs figured out but when recording and playing it back need more smoothly flowing feel to it. So today will be taking another crack at that if all goes well only time will tell. I think once I get things more memorized it should clean up.

Hey, my-old-friend Bill!!!! How the heck are you? Haven’t seen you floatin’ around here too much lately. Good to “see” ya!
Anyway, yeah, I love seeing Kevin’s video-son-posts! … He’s “all-in”, and pedal-to-the-metal. And he can really play guitar.

Great job on a classic!
Nothing like Chitown blues. I lived there for nearly 30 years. I miss the music scene in Chicago. It really was the best. Buddy Guy has his place called Legends there. He’s a genuinely nice, good hearted man. I actually got to sing one line when he and Akroyd were playing one night. Was pretty funny, because I froze when the microphone was shoved in my face. He often plays song.
Brought back a lot of memories. I really miss certain aspects of living out there. A big part of it is the music, food, especially south side, and the people. They were all generally very friendly and fun. I do not miss the weather, and it is gray there. I prefer the green of Pennsylvania.

Thanks Loraine for listening in and commenting your perspective on Chicago I can only guess at. But I love me some blues just plain fun. Very much appreciated you enjoyed the unplugged rendition.

Been traveling so just now found this to listen to. Thought it would be the Blues Brothers version. You did your own thing though. That is great.

Thanks @albert_d yes I did my own thing but I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that I took Robert Johnsons and Blues Brothers met in the middle. Then added some energy vocals and this is what came out. Very much appreciated you listening in and commenting. So glad you found the unplugged rendition enjoyable.
