Over the past 2 or 3 weeks I seem to have hit a wall with my guitar progress. After the initial enthusiasm I found from joining TAC in May, I was struggling to be inspired by recent daily challenges. I just couldn’t seem to get a handle on many of them, especially the finger picking exercises.

Before finding Tony’s system, I probably would have resisted picking up my guitars for awhile, out of frustration. But instead, I went back to the FP Jumpstart course and pushed ahead with it. By jove, it worked! Things started feeling a bit easier, and now these last 2 days of backward roll challenges have actually been fun🙂

The other big factor has been checking in daily with these forums. It’s very encouraging to share in other TAC members’ experiences, and get ideas and inspiration. Maybe all you folks who refuse to let frustration overwhelm you are setting a good example for me🤞

Great win @GerryB56 ! Thanks for sharing with us and reminding us that the commitment to playing daily as well as sticking with and exploring the techniques and challenges does move us forward, even though sometimes it might not seem like it! The other thing I thought is cool about your post is that the fun of playing returned for you as you worked through the skills course and the challenges. 😎🎶🎸

Yep, it sure feels good to be having some fun with my guitar again. Just needed to “lighten up” and stop taking it all so seriously – which has always been one of my worst habits.

Hey @GerryB56 , I feel what you’re saying. Many of us have been there (looking at the bricks in the wall -LOL). What I want to say is that this is a journey, each of us are on our separate path, but looking for the same “ends”. But the journey that we’re on doesn’t end, unless we vier off to complacency😱 and by that I mean we let things overwhelm us and quit – does that make any sense to you? I want you to know that the whole TAC Family is here for you (and every one here) to stand behind you and help you to continue on this journey 🤘🎸😎

Makes perfect sense! As frustrated as I get sometimes, so far I haven’t had any strong urge to quit this journey. But I do need to see the full half of the glass more often🙂

Remember— Those who climb mountains do so in groups. Roped together…….. for a reason.

Yup. patience and perseverance win out. Or as I like to say, “Show up!” Which is exactly what you did!
