  • Thumb surgery

Well I had surgery on my left thumb yesterday, Tendon Transfer carpal joint!

I was scared and pretty sad because I knew it greatly impact my guitar journey for at least 6 weeks doc said. The thought of not playing for so long after putting in the time and effort and starting to see improvement and I will for sure loose my callus on my fingers, ugh!!!

Needless to say I am pretty bummed out. But a few days before my surgery I read the post from Juhan, he had a similar surgery and he had some great advice. He logged on to the daily lessons , and marked the ones he would revisit. I will also do this and as soon as I can I’ll practiced some picking patterns, Travis picking and some rolls because my right hand is fine.

I’m grateful for Juhan’s post and for this group.

    Take care all, Virginia

Good grief, that is no fun at all. I wish you all the best for a successful recovery and keeping at least some routine going while you wait to get back to full strength.

Hey Virg wishing you a very speedy recovery. 6 weeks versus a worsening problem is small change. I like that you’ll be taking a proactive approach.
