Tribute to Zombies
Posted by Guitargeezer on April 10, 2023 at 6:58 amRecently saw The Zombies in concert. Although not fully original band members – their heyday was in the 1960’s after all – lead guitarist, Tom Toomey, is awesome on his own. He performed an acoustical guitar set with his wife on keyboard. Here’s a humble attempt of mine using bass thumb and string plucking of their classic Time of the Season.

@Mike-F I agree. Check out some others by The Zombies: She’s Not There; A Rose for Emily; Care of Cell 44. Here’s a link (hover over it here) – Top 10 Songs by the Zombies (ultimateclassicrock.com)

Thanks for sharing your Zombies play. I didn’t know they were still around, but, like you, several of their songs were defining. I recall in Forrest Gump when Jenny was high on the balcony and the musical score was She’s Not There. Good stuff.

Nicely done! I really liked their style. I had their 45’s then, and still have a couple of their songs on a playlist.

Thank you, @Marisa Yep, that is me. The guitar is my pride and joy, a Boucher, I nicknamed “Butch”. Here is link about it: SG-52 (boucherguitars.com)
I was able to obtain it at a specialty guitar shop in Raleigh, NC. Got it second hand but it is flawless and perfectly set up. Pricey, but worth it.
