So I’m a beginner and started this program. I was playing daily and was doing fairly well for 6 weeks … then I got sick. The beginning of December I got sick with the flu and was down and out for 2 weeks and it took another week just to feel like I had any energy. However, I didn’t pick up the guitar to practice, play or anything. In January I got Covid and was down for a week or so. What I’m saying is I’m struggling to get back into it. I feel like I lost everything that I did previously and have to start over. I’m frustrated and just venting.

Wow. Kinda looks the world has been “piling-on” you.

Glad you got thru them both- and are playin’ again!

I’m willing to bet you still have it all stored away in your brain- that you’ll only have tender fingertips for a couple days- and that you’ll be right back where you left off!

But……. now…….. you will be RARIN’ to go!

Hi @LisaH Youve had a rough go of it the past 2 months. Give yourself some much needed patience and TLC. You’ve just been put through the wringer. You may have to backtrack a bit, but from my experience you should come up to speed in a short time.

Hi, @LisaH! Sorry you had a rough run of things recently. It’s frustrating whey you’re on a roll with something and life has other plans for you. Here’s hoping for a healthy February for you!

I know it sounds trite, but try not to look backwards! Just put the guitar in your hands for a few minutes each day and all those circuits that you were forming by playing before you hit the rough patch will come right back online over the next few weeks.

    You got this! 😃

Ohhhyyyy Lisa, life gets tough at times. Hang in there. You have made it this far so I would suspect you have some astute coping skills. And best of all your still here. Vent on, no worries. Your time spent is time spent well. What you learned may not be on the tip of your fingers but it is in you, and happy memories of the time spent learning combined with recognition of how that felt at the time will go a long way to fixing your motivation and determination presently. Remember why you became a player and hold that close. It does’t take much to get back on track. Do your ten minutes and see where you go. I am rooting for you.
