I too have a feeling of loss of a community atmosphere. I was a TAC member for about 11 months and had just about figured out how to navigate the site before the website changed. I do like the new daily lesson presentation layout but they too have reduced capabilities from the original pages. I still offer an occasional comment but feel that the comments and discussions previously were much more community based. I joined TAC to improve my own playing abilities and know it will still do that so I’ll stick with it. I was a website developer for a large government agency and went through a few site upgrades. Usually the new site is a whole lot less that the original. The first version of the site is a labor of innovation and caring while only economics drives the upgrades. The good thing though is that anything can be changed.

I have been a member for 3 years and was probably one of what they called the 2% who loved to post and respond to the posts of fellow TAC members. You got to know people by their posts. It was a great supportive community. It was not a clique. New members were so welcomed and given supportive feedback. I remember the feedback from my first post. It was what motivated me to play more and more and really helped me gain confidence. I would listen to posts by others everyday and hit the like button or make a comment. It was a real community. Hearing new songs was really motivating.. It was like going into an open mic coffee shop with old and new friends.. All that has changed. The mentors that were regulars are no longer posting. I keep posting thinking it will begin to change. There are so few posts now I hardly check in. I really like the skills section but changes like that could have been added without making changes to the community posting portion.
I’m watching hopefully to see what develops before my renewal in January . I think Tony is amazing but I really miss the feel of the old site.
