When do I start the fretboard course?
Posted by jbroder3me-com on November 22, 2024 at 8:02 pmI am just about done with 5 day challenge. Do I start the fretboard course next or do I do the daily challenge? When do I do the other skills courses? Thank you

Hi @jbroder3me-com and welcome to TAC. Have you done the “30 Days To Play” course yet? If not, that is where you should go next IMHO. You can start doing courses in the “Skills” section anytime you like, there is no time line for that, just what you can do when you feel like doing it. If you’re going to venture there, I would suggest starting with any of the “Jump Start” courses first (3 of them), they’re a great all-around learning tool for their subjects. As for “Fretboard Wizard”, if you know and understand the “Musical Alphabet”, and if you know the string names (and their location) on your guitar, then IMHO you have enough basic skills to start the course – you will learn so much more from there!
Best of luck with your guitar journey

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have done the 30 day challenge and I’m working on the five day challenge now. Just didn’t know whether or not to do the TAC courses first and then the Fred board course or do them at the same time? Which of the skills courses are you talking about starting?

Hi @jbroder3me-com , Yes you could do both the Daily Challenges and Fretboard Wizard (FW) at the same time, it all depends on how much time you have to spend on your journey each day – doing both at the same time will be time consuming. Or, you could do some Skills courses at the same time as the Daily Challenges. It’s your journey, there is no wright or wrong path. Some people do the Daily Challenges during the week and Skills courses or FW on the weekend.
As for me, I’ve done all the Skills courses and gone through FW several times.
