I enjoyed it
Materials tab helped as you explained count timing.
Just being able to look at the notation alongside your explanation, I found a better understanding. Thanks
I had 12 years of voice so this is a refresher course for me.
Been strumming for a while, but never counted “1 and”……
Great lesson
This is a great lesson, and I’m looking forward to getting this down with chord changes.
I have been away for so long that I can’t just pickup where I left off.
I know you said that folks have a hundred reasons for quitting, well after my dad died I probably had a hundred and one reasons.
It stated somewhere in here that you could go back 30 days but I need to start over. Please tell me there is a way to do this. I really wanted to cross this off my bucket list but I can’t do that unless I’m able to learn what I’m doing.
Please tell me there is a way to start over.
Hi Bob! Please reach out to TAC Support for help with this. They’ll be glad to assist. Email is: support@tonypolecastro.com
That was more simple than I thought
simple enough!
Had this one. good deal
Notes starting to make sense .
Enjoyed the lesson
Enjoying lesson one of strumming
Never could read music but looks like I’m on my way.
I like this. I can get it
I could not get any of the strumming tabs to download. I did go 8nto materials.
I would like to see a example of each tablature in the pip as you are explaining these
I’m sure others have said this but .. it should be “its” in the headline. 🙂
I like the detailed information.
Nice.
I don’t see access to the tab drop-down on this first video
In case you have received a reply the tablatures are located above the presentation labeled “materials.”
I cant find it either.
It is on the top of the video.
I’m hoping the strumming lessons will emphasize on playing 2 strings at once. I’m having a little difficulty in playing both in harmony…
Great to see this laid out so clearly.
I love how young Tony is. If nothing else you can watch course progression by the difference in tattoos.
LOL, I noticed that as well.
Happy to learn proper strumming.
Am enjoying getting back to basics and and locking down essentials. Never hurts to go back to fundamentals and unlearn all the bad habits you’ve picked up on.
I got it fairly quickly. now remembering is another thing
Three years of high school choir came in handy.
Thank goodness for high school band.
I need this immensely. Following on the daily challenges, I struggle with the strumming pattern – i.e. when you go up or down strum. So, I am sure we’ll find out, do we only up strum on the ‘and’ beats?
If it was all this easy!
The attached PDF on this lesson and all others (except lesson 4) are not a printable PDF and can’t be opened. Can this be fixed, please?
Good refresher. Clearly and simply explained.
I really enjoy the strumming lesson. It is helping me read tablature and how to keep time and rythum.
redoing all this lesson to make sure i know and have this under my fingers
I have finished the 30 Days to Play, The Five Days and many of the Daily Challenges. I wanted to work on the Strumming Jumpstart because that is mostly what I enjoy.
I am starting over on some skill courses. I got spread out a bit doing the FW and now that im done with FW I am doing the daily challenge and trying to learn a few songs with the help of youtube freebies. The TAC has been very good. I rarely miss a day. Now I just need to get more organized. Go back, do the 90 day review and stuff. Its a win, rarely missing a day of playing.
It would be really helpful for you to teach how to read the tablature by showing it and pointing to what you are describing. I still don’t understand how to read it and will have to watch other YouTube videos.
Click on the Materials link. Then click on Download Lesson 1.
You will see the tab written as Tony describes in the lesson.
I have to use a free app metronome to help with my timing.
Enjoy!
Agreed. I was just going to mention this.
Tab is at top left above video. This course should help me play with correct rhythm. Did not see it until now as it appears on page two of the skills section. Looks very comprehensive. Will play on.
What’s the tab?
@Dave.r.porter. You can find the tab by clicking on the Materials button, that’s next to the Lesson button above the video window. Tab, or tablature, is explained in Tony’s 30 Days To Play Guitar Challenge >> 30 Days To Play Primer >> Learn To Read Tablature or https://tonypolecastro.com/topic/learn-to-read-tablature/. Give that a watch. Hopefully it will help.
At about 1:25 Tony says “So if you go ahead and look at your tab”. What tab?
OH, there it is. Never mind 🙂
Got it started sounds good.
