  1. Okay, I’ve been working on this song for a month now, and I have it down pretty well – just need to continue refining the movements to get better consistency. The harmonics at the end are still an issue though, the first three at the 12th fret are coming along, but the next three almost never work. So I ask you, Tony the Great and Knowingful Guitar Wizard, can you:
1 – Give me some guidance on how to get those to ring out decently. You said that you can only get them about 50% of the time – that doesn’t give me a lot of hope.
    OR
2 – Come up with an alternate ending so I don’t sound like a complete doofus who will never be more than a guitar player wanna-be.

    Thanks,
    Your humble Guitar Gnome
    Kelster

    1. Kelster,

First off the reference of the gnome made me love this post 🙂 As for the harmonics: one way to get them to ring is to pull your finger away from the string once the harmonic rings. If you find all the moving around difficult you can try this: trying hitting just harmonics at the 5th fret and the 7th fret. The 5th fret one s are tricky to get, but once you find the sweet spot practice hitting it every time. As for an alternate ending you can always just give the 12th fret harmonics a healthy strum and end it that way too. I hope this helps you out and if you have more questions on this one let them rip for sure, this is definitely one of the more difficult endings for a tune.

      Cheers,
      Tony
