Day 5 – ‘A’ Shape Exam

Unfortunately, my ringer finger doesn’t bend back enough on acoustic guitar to do the A-shape Tony’s way. Tony is doing a 4-string B chord playing strings 5,4,3, and 2 ( A,D,G,B). I’m choosing to play the four highest strings (D,G,B,E). It’s a bright, clear sound played with four fingers and no bar. Both Tony’s way and mine are four string chords. However, I can play Tony’s version on electric guitar.

getting faster but I still need work, arm gets sore after a while, take a break for arm and fingers.
-
it was odious at first, but then only terrible, and finally more bearable . A very good exercise overall
-
Play a bit, stop shake out my hand and forearm…start again…repeat.
It’s easier than the E chord as there are only 4 strings involved. I use my last 3 fingers to make the A shape. It works better for me. Got up to 1.5 oin the timing. -
I’m playing this okay…but now a little worried about B-minor…but I guess that’s later!
-
Well this needs work, barre chords have been my nemesis. Just have to keep working on them!
-
A little better at 80 bpm. Compression gloves definitely help the pain after the session. I’m ready for the next challenge.
-
Done, Yeah. My left wrist is thanking me for stopping.

Cramps, cramps, cramps…. Play on!
