  1. Took the Fretboard Wizard for the first time and made time each day to do both lessons. I am new to all of this but can say taking them both a the same time really helps instill some of the concepts. Be warned, it is a time commitment. I just retired so have all the time I need.

  2. I really liked the different fretting chords with vibrato and the single string soloing I was able to intertwine with the playbacks. Great week.

  3. I played this well! Really happy with it, even my speed was good!
My win for the week is that made it all 5 days. I also played separately on my cord transitions and my speed playing notes. Great week.

  4. Small win: Showed up every day this week, spent lots more than 10 minutes, and if I ever have to do vibrato, I will at least know where to start.

  5. I like the different techniques, and I will use them in my playing. This was a fun lesson and this is my second time around and it has definitely improved a lot. My playing has improved and I have been here everyday this week, and that is my big win for the week!

  6. Can’t wait to get back to the lessons! Healing up nicely and should have my Taylor back somewhere near the middle of next week. Fingers crossed!

  7. I enjoyed the challenge this week. It was def frustrating at times, but like Tony says, that’s where growth and progress are made! So I’ve keep at it and I feel accomplished. Happy Friday y’all!

  8. First real attempt at vibrato. Definitely easier to wiggle. Still trying to work the leverage method. I have never done much fingerpicking. Today’s challenge was much easier with a pick. If you aren’t cheating you’re not trying. My small win was making it through the whole week while struggling to complete the challenges.

  9. Never realized there was more than one technique for vibrato, so trying these out this week has been fun! Have a great weekend, TAC fam!

  10. I was only aware of the confined vibrato before these lessons. I can’t quite do the leveraged vibrato well, but the “wiggle” vibrato opened up a new avenue I didn’t really know. I can see how the latter is best on the low and middle strings, the confined on the higher strings. Great lessons.

  11. I was working in a small fishing village in the Arctic and had enough internet access to do my daily lesson. Love playing the blues up the neck. It will be helpful when I am jamming, and so much more colorful with the vibrato. Thanks, and I really appreciate this program.

  12. Another good week, picked up on the different types of vibratos pretty quickly and got much better at these chord progressions. Small wins – played every day, feel like there is improvement, also working on the 12-barre blues skills course and that’s going well!

  13. Small win, saw a lot of players use it but did not know the mechanics behind it. An enlightening week!

  14. Two small (but special) wins. Feeling the vibrato and seeing how other members are taking this idea of small wins to heart! Keep it up!

  15. I found myself laughing at myself when I realized I was making some strange faces and pursing my lips and such while playing this little blues vibrato progression… Now Thats a small win… In fact its a Big win. The more laughing, the merrier. Thanks Tony and gang. Hope you ALL have a Fantastic Weekend!

  16. Second time through on this one and I still enjoyed it. I was able to be here each day this week, so that is a small win. I look forward to what is in store for May!

  17. Today’s challenge was successful (fretting fingers still hurt!) # Small win: I didn’t master or perfect vibrato, but I participated in the daily vibrato challenges (confined, leveraged, and edgy) That is all I could ask!

  18. Small win: First time vibrato learning and enjoyed adding to the tool kit. It made me more conscious of placement of fingers by the fret bar to get sound on vibrato better. More practice and look forward to including vibrato it my playing.

  19. I’m finding that of I allow my thumb to ‘float’ off the neck, I can gradually get a more rapid vibrato, then allow my thumb to ride the neck. But if I start with the thumb on the neck, I don’t seem to be able to allow the digits to ‘shake’ independently.

  20. Small win was I was able to get every lesson in this week. Struggled with the fingerstyle picking today but will keep working @ it

  21. Huge benefit win this week for me! These little 3 finger chords are soo versatile. I’ve been having fun moving them around on the fret board to find things that sound good! Thanks TAC!

  22. Trick question!
What key are yesterday’s and today’s chord progressions in?
Big kudos’ to those that get the wright answer.

      1. Sorry @gailday , but that isn’t it. Read my response to William-S below for the correct answer.

    1. Bill, here’s my stab in the dark. Yesterday and todays/ lesson are played in three different keys in the progression. Measure 1-4, 7-8 and 11-12 are in the key of D, Measure 5-6, and measure 10 are in the key of G. Measure 9 is in the key of A. Every time you change chords, you are changing keys in this progression. How did I do??? If this is right, I’ll let you explain it. If this is a different answer than you had let me know and I’ll explain my logic used to answer the question. Have fun…

      1. I’m following your logic @William-S , and I can’t say that it’s wrong. These chords are all dominant 7th chords and the dominant 7 chord occupies the 5th position of a key. There can only be one chord that occupies that 5th position in a particular key. So going measure by measure, I agree with your logic – 3 dominant 7th chords, 3 different keys. I was just going to keep it simple and say that there is no key for this progression. If you have something you’d like to add, please do.

Great to hear from you my friend – my small win for the week! 🙂

      2. I hit publish without reading what I typed. let me rephrase:
………The chords in this progression are all dominant 7th chords. Dominant 7th refers to the 7th of the V(5) chord. There can only be one chord that occupies that 5th position in a particular key…………..

    2. @Bill_Brown. Bill I think we are both saying the same thing, I would have explained it the same way if you didn’t. But even by your logic I will stand by there being three key changes in the progression. You can also look at my post yesterday for subbing diminished chords for dominate seventh chords, C#dim for A7, F#dim for D7 and G#dim for E7, which are the diminished chords played in 2nd inversion in the lesson today to represent the dominant seventh chords. Have a great week-end and keep on keeping on…

    1. Way to Go!!! My sister got me going on a streak. hers ended at like 45 days but I’m still rolling. 117 days now. Love it. Keep it going Ron! Congrats!

  23. The vibrato came pretty easy this week. I’m very excited to have this technique now. A small and big win for me. Thanks Tony!

  24. Thanks for a great week, Tony. Wonderful way to begin the day. I did well with the A7 vibrato but the D7 and E7 need time and patience. My win for the week was verbalizing the eight note count and simultaneously tapping the quarter note count! Hope all are well.

  25. This was a fun and fulfilling week, providing plenty of incentive to “keep on keepin’ on!” It’s been one of my favorite weeks, if not my favorite, so far. I love Tony’s positivity. I, for one, thrive on positive reinforcement and get plenty of that here. Today lesson felt and sounded SO good!

    1. I’m with you 100%. I think that Tony’s positivity is one of the reasons this method is so successful! Looking for and celebrating small wins that add up to BIG GAINS! It’s like compounding interest over time. Thanks for the encouragement and positivity always!

  26. I can comfortably use vibrato on both chords and single notes. That is a small win. I just have to continue to seek opportunities to use this new skill.

  27. Tag Along was very good. I’m enjoying finding chords up and down the neck. Vibrato is adding to the sound. It was a good week for me.

  28. I’ve been away on vacation outside my home country of Canada for the last week but I bought a Martin backpacker travel guitar so I can keep practicing. It wasn’t my usual setup and my guitar is way smaller so it’s been an adjustment but I’m proud I played every day! Vibrato is new to me so I’ll keep practicing for sure. Thanks TAC

  29. This is the start of year two of TAC for me. Only missed 2 days in the past year of not playing. I think that is a large win on small win Friday. Thanks Tony!

  30. This week, learning vibrato has been fun and I am also finding the thumb and finger picking is pretty fun as well . This week has been a win for me . Have a great weekend everyone .

  31. This was a good week. I made it all five days, and I was able to complete the challenges much easier than the other weeks.

  32. I am a tax practioner (CDN) with April 30 filing Deadline. In spite of the craziness and working 7 days a week, I stayed on course and got my guitar playing in every day. I consider that a big accomplishment.

  33. I agree with @tomlarken173gmail-com as well. This was just fun playing this week. I always look forward to the guitar session first think each morning! Have a great weekend everyone!

  34. If you do this well to start the day (Complete the Challenge), regardless of what happens the rest of the day…you have been successful today…at something. My small wins were learning the different vibrato techniques and why vibrato is important.

  35. Small win this week was having a routine. Life got busy this week but doing guitar the same time every day had me at lessons daily. Have a great day.

  36. I agree with @tomlarken173gmail-com. The playing session calms the day, and the daily TAC gives me a base for the day. I hope everyone is doing well, and I can’t wait to read the comments. My small win is putting the “done stamp” on something early. I can’t wait for the challenges next week.

  37. Very cool. Though the vibrato challenges came to me easily, this one was a little more of a challenge. Playing every day keeps me sane in these crazy times, so thanks everyone!
