  1. This exercise is so cool…because I played Flamenco guitar for so long, and the fret board is bigger and wider, I needed to use my little finger to find some notes. I find my self using my fingers wrong compared to acoustic and a classical guitar. I like it…

  2. Hi Tony

Why we use here ring finger ?

Because at moment I am learning your lesson of “Last steam train* and there is ring finger never used?
Im little confused because I see that you finger picking style (Tumb, Pointer and Middle) almost never uses ring finger why now exercises for ring finger?

    Regards

    1. Goran,

Great question, often times the musical situation will dictate which fingers I choose to use. To be best prepared for everything I like to prepare all of my fingers by building confidence and strength in all of them so I can call upon any of them when needed. For fingerpicking on faster tunes I usually stick to the three finger style, on some slower tunes I will add my ring finger if the song calls for it, or I need to reach a certain note. I hope this helps explain 🙂

      Cheers,
      Tony
