Hi Tony
I bought this course on a Friday , so I am waiting until Monday to start it properly .
Do I have to complete everything on fast before I move on, or do I just move on each day ?
Les,
Welcome!!! No need to complete any exercise at a certain speed. Just ten focused minutes is all 🙂 No mastery required, just a good solid dose of exposure to the exercise 🙂
Cheers,
Tony
Super late to getting to this . My path to learning is like my mind, scattered and rarely focused for more than a short while…..I am now going to commit to this months worth of practice . I do have a quick question or two….is it better to stick with the first exercise as a strict down pick workout, or can I alternate or economy pick and get similar results? Or should I just do all picking techniques just seperately? Also I’m trying to figure out the time signature for metrono e use when not in front of the videos . Is it 60 bpm slow, 80 bpm med 120 bpm fast? I could not get the metronome to align with the vid but not sure if that’s human error or a strange bpm your using….thanks
Vic,
No worries at all I am glad you jumped in!!! For the pick direction, since they are quarter notes I would stick to the down strokes. As for the tempos, the slow is 60, the med is 80, and the fast is 100 🙂
Cheers,
Tony
Thanks so Mac for the quick response
I used to read many books teaching the “triangle” and I can’t remember any of them at all, since I couldn’t figure out what’s the “logic” behind making the actions more fluent.
Finally this warm up helps really much!!
I am so glad this exercise is helping you!!! Keep up the great work, thanks for being here!!!
Cheers,
Tony
Hi Tony, This course is truly a challenge for me but liking it very much. I’m new at guitar, 2 years in. There are a couple of bad habits I,ve developed such as posture and hand placement on the neck of my guitar but I’m working on those. Slow start for me but I’ll keep at it. Thanks.
Chris,
Keep after it and you will surely get it!!! I am glad you are diving into the guitar!!!
Cheers,
Tony
Thanks Tony, I find myself picking up my guitar more often now, this is what I needed!!
Thanks again,
Anthony (Tony)M
Oh man, I thought I could do this with no problems but I am struggling. I’ll keep at it but I wish I had the tab.
Gy,
you can find the tab right on top of the lesson video or you can click this link here:

Am I supposed to be able to do it on Fast before I mark it complete???…. because that might take my whole trial month! I am having a heck of a time with the stretch from 5 on the G to 8 on the low E! I keep trying, and can do it faster, but have to pick my hand up to get there, and back. Is that okay?
Well I underestimated myself. I wouldn’t let myself move on to a faster level without doing the level prior 3x clean in a row. I got to fast and kept messing up when I was on what should have been a 3rd clean time (typically on the picking hand). I am a total newbie and I know this is going to be hard… good thing I like a challenge. So far having a really fun time! Thanks!
Glad you are having fun!!! It sounds like you are developing an awesome system to graduate through the speeds 🙂 If you ever have any questions make sure to holler, I am happy to help 🙂
Cheers,
Tony
Sus,
Absolutely that is ok, the main thing is to try every exercise… some you will get to 100bpm and even beyond… some of them 60 bpm will be hard, but any way you slice it it is about exposure to new stuff 🙂 Some of it will stick with you right away and other techniques or things will be a bit foreign, but either way plenty of guitar seeds are being planted 🙂
Cheers,
Tony
Hi Tony, great stuff here. THANK YOU! Just a little question, why I can only play the “explanation” link and not the others “slow”, “medium” and “fast”.
Cheers,
Leonel
Sorry Tony, problem solved
Leonel,
Those should be running ok, just make sure after clicking them to click the play button as well. Sometimes the previous video will continue without the new video being prompted to play. Sorry about that.
Cheers,
Tony
Thanks for the well planned out practice plan, Tony. I’ve incorporated this drill into my warm up and play it all the way up the fretboard and back down again, at least twice in my daily warm up.
Don,
Nice!!! I am glad to hear this one is helping you out 🙂
Cheers,
Tony
This is a great exercise I can really feel it
John,
Glad you dig this exercise!!!
Cheers,
Tony
