Wow that sounds like the strings will be really really tight .
Would it be practical to tune down the low E, b and e then use a capo? There would be much less tension

what is open E tuning? i thought standard concert pitch was already open E tuning

The 4 finger is far better for switching between g and d as the ring finger stays planted. It also sounds fuller.
The 3 finger is easier for switching to and from g and c and is more of a folk or bluegrass style

Thanks. I had the intro down in about a week but couldnt get the attitude on it right for about another two…its weird how you can know your doing it right but it still sounds off. But anyway the intro is actually alot easier to play than it looks.

Thx. Having a little trouble transitioning from the solo directly into rhythm. First couple bars of strumming were rough but after that I think it wasn’t too bad

Playing actual songs is probably the entire goal of all of this so I don’t see how I could possibly hurt. Practicing playing songs has help me far more than any exercise as far as chord changes are concerned. I wouldn’t recommend bothering to learn songs that you don’t like. Figure out what kind of music you like and then work on that.

Your over thinking it. Play as little or as much as you want. If it feels like work stop. Its meant to be fun. The 10 minute rule is just to trick you into getting started then the next thing you know an hour went by. If it was the one hour rule you would either dread it or never seem to find the time. The whole point is just do it. Any amount of time is better than nothing. There is really no point to timing it unless your forcing yourself to practice which is wrong.

i install tile and a day of trowelling or squeezing sponges kills my strumming hand.

other than travis picking patterns it seems easiest to just throw your fingers at the strings and see what it sounds like and adjust by ear and by feel. Takes to much precision to hit specific strings with my giant fingers lol

the real version is better lol
Doesn’t seem to get played much on the radio. I have a Merle Haggard station on Pandora
